Top 10 Cookie Recipes

By Linda Larsen, About.com

Cookies are really a reward for being alive. Think of the best cookies you've eaten and why you've eaten them. They are a perfect pick-me-up with coffee, are the best lunchbox treats, and enhance any celebration, from a child's birthday party to a retirement party. These are my favorite cookies; they'll soon become yours too!

Is this recipe for brownies or fudge? It's both! A thick fudge topping on creamy and tender brownies is the ultimate dessert. Cut these into tiny pieces only please!

This classic cookie recipe is slightly different from all the others out there. You must chill the dough before baking. The cookies are tender and perfect with the chocolate kiss on top.

6. Black and White Brownies

White and dark chocolate come together in a wonderful brownie that's fancy enough for company.

7. Snicker Cookies

For a real treat, try these peanut butter cookies that are wrapped around a candy bar. You won't believe how good these are!

8. My Mom's Oatmeal Cookies

This is another fabulous old fashioned recipe. The combination of butter and oil makes a really chewy cookie that manages to be tender too. And the flavor can't be beat. Yum.

9. Chocolate Drop Cookies

This recipe, from my paternal grandmother, is really easy to make and special too. I especially love them frosted with plain vanilla buttercream frosting.

10. White Chocolate Wedges

This bar cookie is made of a white chocolate batter filled with dark chocolate chunks. I don't know how you could make a better cookie!
